PENN Entertainment announces opening of Second Hotel Tower at M Resort Las Vegas

Penn Entertainment have officially announced the opening of the second Hotel Tower at the M Resort Spa Casino in Las Vegas.

This new hotel doubles the capacity of the M Resort, with a total of 756 rooms, while a 15,000-square-foot Montese Ballroom was opened in October of this year.

Located south of the Las Vegas Strip, PENN now estimates that over 120 new jobs will be available.

An official opening will take place at the M Resort on Wednesday (December 3), featuring a special musical guest and a drone show among other features.

“We’re thrilled to officially open the new tower at our market-leading M Resort property, which significantly expands our capacity to host guests and group business,” said Jay Snowden, the CEO and President of PENN Entertainment.

“This growth project highlights the strength of our retail operation and our commitment to evolving the guest experience with best-in-class entertainment and hospitality options.”

M Resort is the second of five PENN Entertainment growth projects to be finalized

The Hollywood Casino Joliet opened earlier this year, and three more projects are still to come.

Hollywood Casino Aurora in Illinois is the next PENN project to open, scheduled for the second quarter of 2026.

With a budget of $360 million, the casino will have space for 900 slots and 50 table games, while also featuring a hotel on the premises.

The other project opening in 2026 is Hollywood Casino Columbus. This one has a smaller budget of around $100m, with PENN constructing a hotel with 180 rooms at Hollywood Columbus.

Finally, the relocation of Hollywood Casino Council Bluffs will either take place in late 2027 or 2028.

The $200m development is expected to include around 125,000 square feet of new development, with nearly 60,000 of that in gaming space.

This new casino will incorporate the existing ESPN BET sportsbook and a16-room hotel as well.

“We are pleased to add another landside relocation to our pipeline of development projects,” said Todd George, the Executive Vice President of Operations for PENN.

“This project will enhance the quality and efficiency of our Council Bluffs location and significantly improve the property’s competitive positioning in the greater Omaha market.”
